I don't know if it will be supported on all firmwares (I'm rocking fw2.0), but having a Flash player on the PSP is something I've been wanting for a while now. The installed user base for Flash is so huge, it will mean an explosion in homebrew games (and an explosion in my pants).
Animation holds up really well on portable video gadgets. I could see someone creating a site with Flash cartoons targeted specifically to the PSP crowd, using the PSP as a gimmick to drive site traffic. Hmm…
Pspflash.com and flashpsp.com are already registered (to the same guy) but he doesn't seem to be doing anything with either of them. Jerk!

So I never bought a Nintendo DS, went with the PSP instead (which btw, has turned out to be the single greatest gadget I've ever owned).
But this new side scrolling Mario looks kickass. The last one was what? Super Mario World on SNES?
Anyways, I'm hoping they do something like this to launch the Revolution. I don't exactly see adding a DS to the PSP and Gameboy Advance SP (and let's not leave out Game Gear) that I already have – but I haven't upgraded my home console since the PS1.
Where am I going with this? Don't know. Just happy to see Nintendo going back to their roots, and looking for an easy way to sell the Revolution to the wife. See, she's a big Mario fan. And a new Mario would make it a must own system for her. Everyone wins.
